The Tale of the Time-Traveling Croaking Frog

The Tale of the Time-Traveling Croaking Frog

They’ve called me many names… but my spirit has stayed the same.

Some know me as the Lucky Frog. Others call me the Guiro Frog, or even the Magic Croaker.

But my roots go far deeper than just a name.

I am the Croaking Frog, carved from memory, music, and the wisdom of wood.

I’ve journeyed through time — from the hands of Thai village artisans decades ago, to living rooms, music classrooms, and healing circles across the globe today.

Children have giggled at my sounds. Musicians have tapped my back and smiled. Collectors have kept me as a charm. Elders say I bring peace. Some say I bring rain.

But I’ve never aged. I’m still here.

You see, I’m made from Chum Cha wood (Albizia saman) — a tree native to Southeast Asia that grows quickly and responsibly. This tree grows tall and strong, but must be trimmed to protect the older forests. By using the branches we must cut, I am born without harming the heart of the forest.

In fact, Chum Cha wood is known as a sustainable hardwood. It’s light but strong, and when carved just right, it produces a warm, full-bodied “croak” that mimics a real frog in the wild. Nature built this wood for music — and I carry that song.

And when my journey one day ends? I don’t leave behind plastic or waste.

Chum Cha wood naturally biodegrades in as little as 5–10 years, returning to the Earth without a trace.

But until then… I keep singing.

I am the frog that traveled time.

I have survived wars, storms, and changing trends.

Because I’m more than decoration.

I’m a story.

A sound.

A reminder that nature gives… and music heals.
